On 30 May at 6 pm, the fifth edition of Kromvojoj got underway in Alforja, Tarragona. This year, <\/span>119 riders <\/b>took the start, the highest number in our history, with the new format of three starting groups. Two routes<\/a>: <\/span>1,335 km and 26,000 m+<\/b> for the long route, and <\/span>885 km and 16,500 m+<\/b> for the Redux.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both routes followed the same course as far as <\/span>CP1 at Coll d\u2019Ares<\/b>, before coming together again for the final section, from Tur\u00f3 de l\u2019Home back to Alforja. The long route then continued through <\/span>CP1 at Bo\u00ed-Ta\u00fcll<\/b>, <\/span>CP2 at Coll de Burgar\u00e8s<\/b> and <\/span>CP3 at Tur\u00f3 de l\u2019Home<\/b>, while the Redux faced its final major challenge at <\/span>CP2, Tur\u00f3 de l\u2019Home<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the long route, <\/span>Patrick Steiger <\/b>was the fastest, finishing in 3 days, 6 hours and 11 minutes, after a hard-fought battle with Stefano Semenzato, who kept the pressure on for much of the route. Patrick finally managed to pull clear in the Montseny area. <\/span>Hannah Larbalestier <\/b>was the fastest woman, finishing in 4 days, 17 hours and 44 minutes, while the fastest pair were Thibaut Langlet and Paul Dufraisse, in 4 days, 2 hours and 45 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the Redux, <\/span>Emilien Mottet <\/b>completed the 885 kilometres in 1 day, 18 hours and 13 minutes, with a remarkable statistic: he stopped for just 3 hours over the entire route. <\/span>Millie Gibbons<\/b> was the fastest woman, in 2 days, 3 hours and 19 minutes, while Javier Alvarez Echarri and Pablo Herrero were the fastest pair, finishing in 2 days, 1 hour and 7 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The average finishing time was <\/span>5 days, 5 hours and 3 minutes<\/b> on the long route and <\/span>3 days, 15 hours and 15 minutes<\/b> on the Redux. Of the 119 riders who took the start, <\/span>19 did not complete the route<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four women took the start through the <\/span>Sponsoreco <\/b>support programme: Anna Boixadera, Eva Ledesma, Laura Rinc\u00f3n and Laura Vill\u00e9n.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday 6 June, Alforja once again brought us together to celebrate the end of an edition defined by effort, exhaustion, kilometres and the stories of everyone who chose to take on the challenge. <\/span>119 people left Alforja. 100 made it back.<\/b> And each of them took their own Kromvojoj story home with them.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
